Long ago, in an age forgotten by man, there was a distant land called Merileth. Merileth was home to many creatures and people, all of whom lived in serenity with one another. The queen, a benevolent ruler, truly cared for her people, making sure that they remained safe and content. So, to keep the peace and ensure her people’s security, the queen appointed four holy knights to the protection of her nation.
The first knight was Durge, Rage of the Dragons. Having been obsessed with dragons, Durge modeled his armor as well as his weapon after the legendary beasts. Having an affinity to fire, he quite literally basked in the heat of battle, crushing evil into the dirt with his mighty war hammer.
The second knight was Natheara, The Archon of Justice. Known for charging into battle on the back of a gryphon, Natheara was the cavalry of the four knights. Specializing in both ground and aerial combat, she was capable of taking down even the most fearsome beasts with her unyielding poleaxe.
The third knight was Lucille, Sniper of the Storm. Said to have a gaze that pierced the sky itself, Lucille was flawless in the art of marksmanship. If the rumors are true, she’s never missed a single shot. Possessing a longbow imbued with the power of thunder, there was nothing that could escape her sight.
And the fourth knight was Adam, The Hunter of Fiends. Notorious for his violent wars against the creatures of hell, Adam was an expert in the slaying of devils and demons alike. He mainly performed his “hunts” in the dead of night, seeking out any and every fiend he could find, ending their reign of terror with his sacred longsword.
These four knights swore an oath, bound by duty to exterminate any and all who would dare threaten their beloved home.
They were powerful enough on their own, but together, there was virtually nothing that could stop them. Even the most terrifying of armies would fall to their knees at the mere mention of their names. But to the people of Merileth, they were the greatest heroes the land had ever known. Their sheer valor would inspire many to stand along with them.
For many years, the knights would go down in history. Their countless battles and crusades, their victories and feats, all of which marked a chapter in their legends. And for a long time, everything went well, the land thrived, the people rejoiced, and the knights simply continued on with their duties.
All until the moment, they embarked on what would be their final crusade, the end of their stories...
One day, the queen received reports of a powerful warlock residing in an old tower to the north of Merileth. Of course, the queen’s first instinct was to call upon the four knights to eliminate the threat, if only she knew what would become of their fates. Perhaps if the knights were better prepared, they would have survived their journey...
