"Cedric, wake up!" Aldana's voice commanded, startling Cedric awake.
Cedric got up groggily from his warm and comfortable bed, slightly nervous for today's task.
"As a hero of Lescatie you will be required to wear these." Aldana announced; showing Cedric a silver undershirt along with metal armour adored with the cross of the Order.
Cedric admired the armour for a moment, astonished by it's beauty. As he was already on a deadline Cedric put on the undershirt and armour hurriedly, and also making sure to not forget his wand.
Aldana guided Cedric to the training grounds. There were already two knights engaging in a duel. Their dance of blades ended as soon as they noticed Cedric and Aldana's presense.
"You must be the new hero everyone is talking about. It is an honour to meet you Cedric. My name is Mersé and this is Elt." Mersé said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both, I look forward to fighting alongside you." Cedric said smiling.
"Before you do however you will need this." Aldana interjected as she handed Cedric a sword. The sword was fairly elegant and posessed a diamond encrusted handle. Cedric swung it around a few times to get a feel of it.
"Now that you have a sword worthy of a hero, you will first spar with me." Aldana stated as she drew out her sword. Cedric likewise did so also.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The sound of swords parrying each other rang in the air. Aldana noticed Cedric had left his entire left side exposed as he tried to attack. She simply sidestepped to Cedric's left and smacked the sword out of Cedric's hands. Defeated Cedric simply held his hands above his head.
"Not bad Cedric, but you need to be quick with your attacks. By putting all of your energy into one heavy attack you leave yourself exposed." Aldana scolded Cedric.
"I'll try not to do that in future, not to seem rude or ungrateful but since I'm a wizard shouldn't I focus on developing my magic skills more?" Cedric asked.
"Think of it like this Cedric, how will you defend yourself if you by some chance lose your wand? That's why you must develop your sword skills so that you are not totally defenseless and overreliant on your magic skills." Aldana said.
"You have a point there Aldana, thank you for the sword and for giving me this second chance at life." Cedric said gratefully.
"It's my pleasure, I believe in due time you will become a fine hero." Aldana said smirking.
Timeskip: Dusk
The first day of hero training was very intense for Cedric, but nothing he couldn't handle. He made a personal vow to himself that he would become a powerful hero not only to protect the people of Lescatie, but to also avoid any repeats of the graveyard incident.
"Hey Cedric, do you wanna come by the church and have dinner with us." Elt offered.
"Yeah sure." Cedric said.
The two left the training grounds and arrived at the church/orphanage where Elt had offered dinner. Elt knocked on the door which was answered by one of the orphans.
"Glad you could make it for dinner." A voice greeted the two. Cedric turned his head towards the table and found the source of that voice. It was that same blue haired woman from yesterday.
"Sorry miss I never caught your name, what was it again." Cedric ask sheepishly.
"Sasha Fullmoon." Sasha answered.
"Great to meet you Sasha." Cedric said happily as he sat down by the table.
"Hey Cedric is it true you're a wizard?" A child asked.
Can you show us a magic trick?" Another orphan asked.
"Since you guys asked kindly, I'll show you one. COLOVARIA!" Cedric yelled as he pointed his wand at one of the orphans, his black hair magically turning blonde.
"Whoa, awesome." The boy said with glee.
"Show us another spell Cedric!"
"Yeah that was so cool!"
"I understand you are all excited to see Cedric's magic, but please leave him be, he's exhausted from his training today." Sasha spoke up on Cedric's behalf.
"Sorry guys but Sasha is right, I'm too exhausted to do more spells for you. Don't worry though I'll make it up to you all in the near future, I promise." Cedric said to the disappointed orphans.
Just as Cedric was heading towards the door, a girl ran up to him and hugged him, Cedric hugged her back and rubbed her head.
"Goodbye everyone, I will visit as often as possible." Cedric said as the orphans, Sasha and Elt waved goodbye to him.
It was almost night time now, and Cedric knew he had to get home quickly.
Cedric admitted to himself that he really enjoyed the company of the muggle children. And thinking about them made him smile.
Finally arriving home, Cedric took out his house keys and opened the door to his now dark cottage. He lit a few candles and used a spell to make the wax unmeltable, thereby making the candles burn indefinitely.
Cedric sat dow by his desk to write another entry in his diary
Monday 26 June 1995
My hero training was tough, but I feel I done alright considering it was my first day. I won't lie it felt weird using a muggle weapon, but I'm already getting accustomed to it. If only I still had my books from Hogwarts I could continue training myself in magic. Today I was introduced to Mersé and Elt, two fellow knights. After training was over Elt (who I swear is secretly a Weasley.) invited me to the Orphanage for dinner. At the orphanage I met that blue haired woman again and learned that her name was Sasha Fullmoon. One of the muggle orphans asked to do a magic trick for him, so I changed the colour of his hair. I have only been here in Lescatie for a full day and have already grown a fondness for it. The Chief God has given me a big responsibility to protect these people. The people here, especially the orphans, look up to me. But I ask myself, what if one one day when they expect me to be there for them and I'm not? Is this what Harry had to go through everyday?
Finished with his entry Cedric went to go lie and down and sleep.
