A/N: This is a direct continuation of Chapter 3 as it ended quite abruptly and I do apologise for that. Also I fixed any grammatical errors and inconsistencies in the previous chapter to make the reading experience more enjoyable. This chapter should make up for the cliffhanger ending of the previous one.
"Well I`m glad you are here with us Cedric. I`m sorry for what those awful people did to you." Sasha said reassuringly.
"You don`t need to apologise Sasha. Me dying was ironically a blessing in disguise, as I got to meet you and the orphans." Cedric stated smiling.
In the distance there was a loud clanking of metal and footsteps, which got progressively louder.
"Sir Cedric!" One of the knights called out his name.
"What is the matter?" Cedric asked.
"One of our scouts discovered a monster village not too far from here, and His majesty King Castor has decided to send you on this mission to see how you perform against the monsters." the knight announced.
"Alright. Let me go collect some vials of holy water just to be on the safe side." Cedric said
After collecting the holy water Cedric announced to the knights that he was ready. With a loud screech the giant metal gates that guarded Lescatie swung open, allowing Cedric, Aldana and the garrison of knights to make their way towards the monster village.
6 Hours Later
It was now late afternoon and the entire garrison was exhausted from the walking. Noticing this Cedric advised all of them to stop and take a break.
"Why are we stopping?" Aldana asked irritated.
"Because Aldana we are tired and need to catch our breath. It`s no use invading a monster village when you have no energy." Cedric explained.
"Alright, but in 10 minutes we must move again." Aldana said.
Rustle, rustle, rustle
Aldana was the only one who heard that faint rustling of the bushes.
"EVERYONE! GET YOUR SWORDS OUT NOW!" She alerted everyone.
The knights did as they were told and the entire garrison was on high alert now.
AWOOOOOOO!!!!
Cedric knew all too well what that howling noise was.
Werewolves.
Cedric knew of the tales of werewolves from his world, how they`d bite people and convert them into werewolves, heck in his 5th year he even had a werewolf as a Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher.
One of the werewolves made the first move; and she lunged at one of the knights.
"STUPEFY!" Cedric yelled as his spell hit the attacking werewolf, sending her flying into a tree and knocking her unconscious. He then noticed that Aldana was fighting off three werewolves at once, and one of them managed to bite her arm.
"AHHH!" Aldana screamed.
"STUPEFY!" Cedric`s spell hit the attacking werewolf square in the chest. Next he took out two of his vials of holy water and threw it at the second and third werewolves, making them scream in pain and retreat; the rest of the pack doing the same.
"Whew, that was a close one." Cedric said whilst panting.
"A bit too close for my liking." Aldana commented.
"Where are the others?" Cedric asked, only now noticing it was just himself and Aldana remaining.
"The other werewolves most likely took them." Aldana said.
THUD!
Cedric and Aldana turned their heads to the source of the new sound and saw in front of them was a woman with navy blue eyes and long navy blue hair tied into a ponytail. Her attire consisted of very revealing navy blue clothing and a mask covering the lower half of her face.
"WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DO YOU WANT!?" Cedric asked sternly.
The woman was quiet for a few moments; then she finally spoke.
"If you must know I am what you humans call a Kunoichi." she said.
"Kunoichi?" Cedric asked dumbfounded, he had never heard of these "kunoichi" before.
Faster than the untrained eye could see, the woman lunged at Cedric and tackled him to the ground.
"Get off of me you weirdo!" Cedric commanded; the woman clearly not listening to him.
The way this woman was looking at Cedric made him extremely uncomfortable and... aroused? She was just staring into his eyes dreamily and could see what looked like a faint blush form on her face.
SWOOSH!
Aldana attempted to strike the woman while she was distracted and Cedric felt the woman`s weight was now suddenly gone as he saw her do a backflip and then disappear into the forest.
"Thanks for saving me Aldana." Cedric said.
"It`s only fair considering you helped me against the werewolves." Aldana replied.
"We have to head back to Lescatie. The King`s probably gonna have my hide for failing my first mission." Cedric said sheepishly.
"Don`t worry, I`ll stand up on your behalf." Aldana assured Cedric.
"Thanks Aldana, I appreciate it." Cedric said gratefully.
Whilst the duo were walking back to Lescatie, Aldana heard the voice of the Chief God again, only it was instructing her to do weird things.
"Cuddle him."
"Treat him like a lover."
Aldana was confused by these new and peculiar demands, but nonetheless she agreed to do them as the Chief God instructed her to do so.
"Hey what the-" Cedric was cut off as Aldana wrapped her arms around Cedric.
"Aldana, what are you doing?" Cedric asked confused.
"Just checking to see if you have any scars, thats all." Aldana said with a smile and blush on her face.
Confused Cedric just brushed it off at her being protective. When they arrived back at Lescatie it was already night time.
The guards opened the gates and Cedric and Aldana made their way towards the castle to inform the King of the missions failure.
The castle guards opened the doors as soon as they saw Cedric and Aldana, confused as to where the other knights were.
Cedric arrived to the throne room where the King and Queen were, and proceed to tell them about the mission.
"Your majesty, it is with great regret that I inform you of the failure of our mission. While we were approaching the monsters` village we were ambushed by werewolves. They abducted the entire garrison and me and Aldana were forced to retreat." Cedric announced with a stoic look on his face.
"You were blessed by the Chief God yourself and yet you failed your first mission! HOW DARE YOU! After I gifted you a cottage on my behalf! For your punishment in failing the mission I declare that you move all of your belongings out within the next hour!" The King roared with anger.
"Fuck you," Cedric hissed, his fists shaking.
"What did you say to me boy?" the King asked again.
"I SAID FUCK YOU YOU UNGRATEFUL CUNT!" Cedric shouted as he showed his middle finger towards the King, making everyone in the room gasp with shock.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO SHOW SUCH DISRESPECT!" the King bellowed.
"Cedric Amos Diggory, you entitled fuck." Cedric spat out. Having enough of this whole ordeal Cedric walked to his cottage and gathered all of his belongings, with Aldana following him from behind.
There was only one other place Cedric knew where he was still welcome; Sasha`s church and proceeded to make his way there.
"Thank you for helping me curry my stuff Aldana." Cedric said as he and Aldana were walking through the dark and empty streets of Lescatie.
"No problem. How did you manage to make all of your belongings so light?" Aldana asked.
"Feather light charm" Cedric stated.
The duo arrived at the church. Cedric knocked, hoping whoever answered wouldn`t be too upset and understand his current predicament.
The door was opened, and standing there was a tired and confused red head teen.
"Cedric, what are you doing here so late?" Elt asked confused.
"It`s a long story, if it`s alright with you guys may I spend the night here." Cedric asked.
"Yeah sure, come in." Elt said.
It was dark and most of the orphans were already asleep, so Cedric decided to use a few blankets to act as a matress on the floor.
Sasha came out of her room upon hearing what sounded like Cedric`s voice, and was surprised to see Cedric indeed there.
"Cedric, why are you here, what happened?" Sasha asked.
"Me and the King had a falling out. He evicted me from the cottage because I failed my mission to capture the monster village." Cedric informed Sasha.
"I`m sorry to hear that, you can stay here in the orphanage for the time being." Sasha said as she put a reassuring hand on Cedric`s shoulder.
"Are you sure Sasha? The place already looks quite full, especially with the boys and girls having to share the same room." Cedric said uncertainly.
"Don`t worry about it, remember Cedric you are always welcome here." Sasha said warmly.
"I`ll sleep next to you." Aldana said suddenly, Cedric almost forgetting she was also there with him.
"Sure thing." Cedric answered as he brought out more blankets to make a mattress big enough for him and Aldana to sleep on.
As Cedric went to the back room to take off his armour, he decided to write another entry in his diary there
Tuesday 27 June 1995
Today could`ve gone a lot better. In the morning I had a nightmare about that place again. I woke up screaming and panting which made me the talk of the town. Then Aldana has the guts to tell me just brush off like it was nothing. She doesn`t know what it`s like to be killed, who is she to judge? Thankfully we made up at the end of the day. I came by Sasha`s orphanage again and decided to tell her the truth of my origins. So far she is the only person I truly trust in Lescatie. Even when I`m training or simply taking a walk, my mind is always thinking about her. Thankfully she was very understanding and compassionate towards me, and I`m grateful for that. While we were deep in conversation the knights informed me that King Castor would be deploying me on my first mission, to eliminate a nearby monster village. After many hours of walking I instructed my tired knights to rest, and when we did, we were ambushed by werewolves. Me and Aldana were the only survivors of this ambush and we decided it was best to head back to Lescatie. Before we departed however a woman calling herself a "kunoichi" jumped out of a tree and tackled me to the ground. Thankfully Aldana managed to chase her away before she could do any harm to me. I`ve noticed Aldana has been acting rather strange ever since the werewolf ambush. She has displayed more affectionate behaviour towards me and when I look at her, she turns her head away blushing. When I informed the King of the mission`s failure, he was furious and evicted me from my cottage due to my failure. Angered at this injustice I swore at him, flipped him off and gathered my belongings to the only other place that I knew I would still be welcome, the Orphanage.
With a tired yawn Cedric closed his diary and made his way toward the improvised bed. With Aldana already asleep Cedric scooted next to her, with sleep overtaking him as well.
